Michael Jibson is a British actor well known for his work on stage and screen. He grew up in Hull and is married to stage actress Caroline Sheen; their daughter Flora was born in 2012. He trained with the Natioal Youth Music Theatre and later at the Guildford School Of Acting. At the age of twenty one, Michael was nominated for a Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Joe Casey in OUR HOUSE in the West End, directed by Matthew Warchus.
Michael's film work includes Working Title’s LES MISERABLES directed by Tom Hooper, Dreamworks’ THE FIFTH ESTATE directed by Bill Condon, Blueprint Pictures’ THE RIOT CLUB directed by Lone Scherfig, Millennium Films’ GOOD PEOPLE alongside James Franco and Kate Hudson, directed by Henrik Ruben Genz, CEMETERY JUNCTION directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and THE BANK JOB directed by Roger Donaldson, DEVILS BRIDGE, PANIC BUTTON & THE DARKEST DAY all directed by Chris Crow and FLYBOYS directed by Tony Bill. Up and coming releases include Disney’s BEAUTY & THE BEAST (also directed by Bill Condon) and Chris Crow’s THE LIGHTHOUSE which Michael also co-wrote and produced.
Michael’s recent television includes Myles Standish in National Geographic's TV movie event SAINTS & STRANGERS, Mike in BURTON & TAYLOR with Dominic West and Helena Bonham Carter, FATHER BROWN and Victoria Wood's TUBBY & ENID, all for the BBC. Other TV includes, DCI BANKS for ITV, and Phamer McCoy in Emmy Award winning US miniseries HATFEILDS & MCCOYS with Kevin Costner, directed by Kevin Reynolds and GALAVANT for ABC.
Michael’s recent theatre work includes HAMILTON (West End), KISS ME KATE (BBC Proms), ROOTS (Donmar Warehouse), Stephen Sondheim's ROAD SHOW (Menier Chocolate Factory), A COMEDY OF ERRORS (Royal Exchange Theatre), Charles Lindbergh in TAKE FLIGHT (Menier Chocolate Factory), the lead role of Pinkie Brown in BRIGHTON ROCK (Almeida), A CHROUS LINE (Sheffield Crucible) and he made his West End debut in OLIVER! at London’s Palladium in 1995. With the Royal shakespeare Company, Michael played various roles in their medley of THE CANTERBURY TALES, and at Shakespeare’s Globe he played Puck in A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM and The Painter in TIMON OF ATHENS.

After a sell-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Trevor Nunn's critically acclaimed revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF has transferred to the West End's Playhouse Theatre for a limited season. Continuing our #FirstNightTakeover series, Faves vlogger Perry O'Bree was there.
