Lara Pulver is an English stage and screen actor. She was nominated for a 2016 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for playing Gypsy Rose Lee in Gypsy in the West End, transferring with the production from Chichester Festival Theatre.
Lara returned to Chichester Festival to play Louise in Gypsy, following her performance as Yelena in Uncle Vanya at the Minerva Theatre. Other theatre credits include Parade (Mark Taper Forum Los Angeles and Donmar Warehouse, 2008 Olivier Awards Best Actress in a Musical Nomination), Everything Must Go! (Soho Theatre), Beau Jest (Hackney Empire), Into the Woods (Royal Opera House), The Last Five Years (Menier Chocolate Factory), Honk! (National Theatre), Miss Saigon (National Tour), High Society (Open Air Theatre Regent’s Park), A Chorus Line (Sheffield Crucible), The Boy Friend (Theatre Royal Windsor and UK tour), Chicago (National Tour), Grease (Victoria Palace Theatre), 42nd Street (UK Productions), The Wizard of Oz (Oldham Coliseum) and Pendragon (NYMT, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, City Center Theater New York and National Theatre Taipei).

Based on the true life memoirs of legendary burlesque entertainer, Gypsy Rose Lee, the 1959 Broadway musical Gypsy tells the tale of Momma Rose and her two daughters, Baby June and Louise, trekking across America in their family vaudeville act. But times are changing, audiences are expecting more, and the two girls have their own ambitions in mind....

Amongst the nominated musicals, the big winners at the 2016 #OlivierAwards were Gypsy, Kinky Boots and In the Heights. Sadly, Guys and Dolls, Mrs Henderson Presents, Bend It Like Beckham and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers all went home empty-handed.
