5 TO 5 makes its London Fringe Premiere...

It's a classic, but it's never been on the London Fringe before! But Upstairs at the Gatehouse are here to change that as they announce a new production of 9 TO 5 that will open this August and run for a full month. Bring on the Dolly, we say...

The London Fringe Premiere of 9 TO 5 The Musical is being produced at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, Highgate Village from 30th August through to 1st October 2017 with press night on 1st September, at 7.30 p.m.

This hilarious musical comedy is based on the hit 1980 movie of the same name and centres on 3 female office workers who turn the tables on their sexist boss. The show has music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick based on the screenplay by Patricia Resnick and Colin Higgins.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy - giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged", the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

Joseph Hodges will direct the production with musical direction from Oliver Hance, choreography by Chris Whittaker, and casting by Harry Blumenau.  The production is produced by JH Entertainment.

This outrageous, thought provoking and romantically depth musical received 15 Drama Desk Award nominations and 4 Tony Award nominations when it ran on Broadway in 2009. All music and lyrics are written by Dolly Parton and her quick wit and happiness radiate throughout this fun-packed musical.

Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?
