West End Bares takes on The Wizard of Oz this October...

This year, West End Bares goes over the rainbow with a Wizard Of Oz theme and West End superstar Rebecca Trehearn will lead the cast in RUBY STRIPPERS this October at the Novello Theatre...

Olivier Award winner Rebecca Trehearn will open this year’s Wizard of Oz-inspired edition of West End Bares, the burlesque-flavoured fundraiser which will play London’s Novello Theatre on Sunday 29 October.

Performing a track specially written for the occasion by THE BOOK OF MORMON'S Mark Anderson and That Bloody Woman composer Luke di Somma, the SHOW BOAT star will be one of more than 100 performers who will take to the stage for two very special shows.

Now in its eighth year, and with the 2017 theme reflected in the title Ruby Strippers, West End Bares is an annual event which is staged in aid of the Make A Difference Trust, a UK-based charity involved in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

Based on the original concept Broadway Bares by legendary Broadway and West End director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell who launched the event to raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids, West End Bares combines the risqué entertainment of traditional burlesque with the crowd-pleasing glitz of a West End smash.

Directed by David Grewcock, West End Bares 2017: Ruby Strippers will feature leading choreographers and performers from the West End stage and beyond and a number of celebrity hosts.

Commenting on this year’s theme award-winning director and choreographer, Mitchell said: “Lions and tigers and BARES, oh my! I can’t wait to see the eighth edition of West End Bares in London and what a perfect theme to go full out and celebrate life. We need to keep up the fight against HIV and AIDS and by doing what we love or by buying a ticket and supporting this incredible night, you can be part of something huge that will change people’s lives – and you get to watch the hottest dancers in London strip, so it’s a no brainer!”

Melanie Tranter, co-founder, chair and trustee of the Make A Difference Trust said: “Who can resist an amazing night of witches, lions and scarecrows combined with the magic that is West End Bares?

“I can’t believe that this is the eighth year of this amazing show. Sparkly shoes take over from the legends of Camelot, as David Grewcock and the amazing team behind last year’s EXCALIBARE, bring you Ruby Strippers.

“Every single ticket sold means that the Make A Difference Trust can continue our work towards a world free of HIV and AIDS. Together we can make a difference. So, buy your tickets, get your MAD money, and enjoy one of the sexiest, most fun evenings you can have in a theatre! I can’t wait to see you there!”

Previous celebrity supporters include John Barrowman, Judi Dench, Graham Norton, Paul O’Grady and Sheridan Smith.

Tickets for this year’s shows are now on sale and available from: www.delfontmackintosh.co.uk, the DMT West End Bares booking line 0844 4825172, or from the Novello Theatre box office.

West End Bares will be partnering with 100 Wardour St for this year’s exclusive After Party where ticketholders can continue to celebrate with the cast of the show. A limited number of tickets will be available costing £10 to anyone who buys a ticket for the 7pm or 9.30pm show
