The nominations for the 2017 #TonyAwards have finally been announced and although two of the nominees are West End transfers, there's a whole host of exciting new shows that haven't been seen in the UK. You might be wondering what these other super slices of Musical Theatre sound like...well we've done the legwork for you and put together all of the trailers (and blurbs!) for the nominated Musicals in one place!

BEST MUSICAL

COME FROM AWAY

Come From Away is based on the true story of when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned in to an international sleep-over when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from across the globe, were diverted to Gander’s air strip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. Both deeply personal and profoundly contemporary, Dear Evan Hansen is a new American musical about life and the way we live it.

GROUNDHOG DAY

Groundhog Day follows TV weather man Phil, who reluctantly goes to cover the story of Punxsutawney Phil for the third year in a row. Making no effort to hide his frustration, he covers the story and moves on, expecting his job to be finished. However, he awakes the "following" day and discovers that it's Groundhog Day again, and the fun happens again and again and again. He soon realizes he must take advantage of it in order to secure the love of a coworker.

NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812

Inspired by a 70-page slice of War and Peace, this "vibrant, thrillingly imagined new musical" (NY Times) brings us just inches from Tolstoy’s brash young lovers as they light up Moscow in a “heaven-sent fireball" (NY Times) of romance and passion. Natasha is a beautiful ingénue visiting Moscow while she waits for her beloved fiancée Andrey to return from the war. In a moment of indiscretion, she is seduced by the dashing (but already married) Anatole and her position in society is ruined. Her only hope lies with Pierre, the lonely outsider whose love and compassion for Natasha may be the key to her redemption… and to the renewal of his own soul.

BEST REVIVAL OF A MUSICAL

FALSETTOS

The story of Marvin, who leaves his wife and child for a male lover, and the extended family's comic and dramatic attempts to co-exist as the lover contracts the AIDS virus.

HELLO, DOLLY!

Featuring music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and a book by Michael Stewart, Hello, Dolly! tells the story of an outspoken matchmaker and her attempts to marry "half-a-millionaire" Horace Vandergelder.

Well...there isn't a trailer for this one, but the standing ovation greeting Bette Midler in this clip of her opening night says it all!

MISS SAIGON

Set in 1975 during the final days of the American occupation of Saigon, Miss Saigon is an epic love story about the relationship between an American G.I. and a young Vietnamese woman. Orphaned by war, 17-year-old Kim is forced to work as a bar girl in a sleazy Saigon nightclub, owned by a notorious wheeler-dealer known as "The Engineer." John, an American GI, buys his friend Chris the services of Kim for the night—a night that will change their lives forever.
