The hit West End production of Wicked is now booking until 4 November 2017, it has been announced as the new cast begin performances in the show.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary later this month, the musical has confirmed its 22nd extension at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, now booking until November 2017 – with tickets available for the new booking period available now.
Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked tells the untold story of the wizard of Oz and an unlikely friendship between Glinda and Elphaba. It features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, including the songs ‘Popular’ ‘The Wizard and I’ and of course the iconic ‘Defying Gravity’.
As of now, the cast for the London production includes the return of Rachel Tucker as Elphaba, Suzie Mathers begins performances as Glinda, as well as Anita Dobson as Madame Morrible, Martin Ball as Doctor Dillamond and Idriss Kargbo as Boq. They will join continuing cast members Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Katie Rowley Jones, Alice Fearn and Carina Gillespie.
The production features a book by Winnie Holzman, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, orchestrations by William David Brohn and musical staging by Wayne Cilento. It is directed by Joe Mantello.
