Paul Taylor-Mills will join Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s Really Useful Group as advisory producer. Whilst continuing to work independently on his own productions, Paul will also begin working on selected Really Useful Group titles, and supporting the programming and incubation of new work at the newly owned St James Theatre.

Paul Taylor-Mills said of the appointment:

“I’m thrilled and humbled to be working with Andrew and his exceptional team at RUG on the next phase at St. James Theatre. London has been crying out for a home dedicated to staging new work and our plan is to make St. James the destination venue at which to do this. We want to throw open the doors as wide as we can to make sure we’re hearing the length and breadth of new voices in musical theatre around the world. St. James Theatre provides us with the perfect opportunity to do this and I’m looking forward to sharing our plans over the coming months.”

Paul Taylor-Mills’ producing credits include the acclaimed London premieres of In The Heights and Carrie: The Musical at Southwark Playhouse. In The Heights is currently nominated for four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical for its transfer to King’s Cross Theatre, whilst Carrie: The Musical last month won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Off West End Production. Other recent productions include End of the Rainbow (UK Tour), Casa Valentina (Southwark Playhouse), Altar Boyz (Greenwich Theatre) and the first London revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game (Union Theatre).

Further details regarding the acquisition of St. James Theatre and future programming will be announced by Really Useful Group later this year.
