For our first-ever, out-of-town #FirstNightTakeover, Perry O'Bree jumped on a coach from London to Cirencester in the heart of the Cotswolds to help inaugurate the brand-new Barn Theatre on the opening night of its first offering, a 12-strong, actor-musician version of THE SECRET GARDEN. In addition to the cast, Perry caught a few other familiar West End #StageFaves making the trip, including Liam Tamne, Verity Rushworth and the theatre's own artistic director, former actor Iwan Lewis...

No sooner had guest blogger Caroline Hanks-Farmer come back razzle-dazzled from the CHICAGO press launch than producers announced that, due to demand, they've now extended booking for the show's West End return through to October. Live-tweeting from this week's event - plus sneak-peek rehearsal photos of Cuba Gooding Jr and his murderesses!
We love a good Musical revival, but we love it even MORE when companies do something fresh and new with the classic material. The Barn Theatre in Cirencester is currently running a brand new production of THE SECRET GARDEN, reimagined for a group of actor musicians. Our #StageFavesSongOfTheWeek this week is "Wick" from this exciting new take...
You may well have seen Welshman Iwan Lewis on stage or screen. His many credits include Legally Blonde, Godspell, Therese Raquin and the blockbuster film version of Les Miserables (yes, that's him with Hugh Jackman). How'd he go from treading the boards to launching and running Cirencester's brand-new Barn Theatre? Watch as he lays out his vision for bringing the West End to the Cotswolds...

What happened when they arrived in Cirencester in the heart of the Cotswolds? How are the folk music traditions of the area seeping into their performance of this new actor-musician production? WATCH these two videos to witness how it's all coming together...
Most people tend to focus on the hero of a story, or the major love interest that propels much of the action of a Musical along. But we reckon the villains are often the most interesting part of a show (after all, that's literally what WICKED is entirely based upon!) so we decided to share this collection of the top songs from Musical Theatre Villains.
Last week, it was announced that Imelda Staunton is nominated for TWO Olivier Awards this year - for best actress in a musical AND play. We decided to celebrate by choosing a #StageFavesSongOfTheWeek from "Gypsy", for which her performance as mama Rose won her an Olivier in 2016.
It's got to be one of the most heart-warming shows on the West End. KINKY BOOTS never fails to remind us the power of being true to yourself and thinking outside of the box! It may still be cold and wet, but this performance shines with more warmth than a summers' day! Our #PalladiumPicks choice this week is this happy little gem, performed live at the London Palladium...
It's nearly time for TINA: THE MUSICAL to open at The Aldwych theatre on London's West End and the excitement is growing! In the second of three short films charting the development of the world premiere, book-writer Katori Hall shares her experiences of growing up as a black woman in the American south and talks about how Tina showed everyone "I can be authentically black, and still take over the world."
If 2018 is the year of the woman then it seems fitting that this year, Broadway welcomes FROZEN to the great white way. There are a bunch of new songs to add to the fan favourites and the team behind FROZEN have released a video of Caissie Levy performing one of those new tracks, "Monster", with a full live band - and some really awesome neon stick things...
As far as Musical Theatre remixes go, this has to be one of the strangest, and most fun! Parody legend Weird Al Yankovic has created a hilarious (and actually really good) medley of HAMILTON...as a polka!
Now a West End staple, THE LION KING has been in London for almost 20 years and it's still as fresh and exciting as ever. Not only that, last month it celebrated its 15 millionth guest, which we have to say is an achievement worth going down in the history books! This week, our #StageFavesSongOfWTheWeek is "He Lives In You" from the legendary Disney show, based on the film which stole our hearts back in 1994.
It's a classic from the original film that reminded audiences on the West End and then Broadway why they fell in love with the story to begin with. CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is one of the best loved Roald Dahl books of all time and in 2013 it took the plunge to become a stage musical. Here, Jonathan Slinger is joined by all of the Charlie Buckets, singing "Pure Imagination" which originally featured in the 1971 film.
