Don’t be sad that all the presents have been unwrapped and the mince pies are running out, as there is already festive theatre news! Nativity! The Musical returns to Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo for a third year running from 11 to 29 December 2019 and Simon Lipkin will be back as Mr Poppy too.
Producer Jamie Wilson said: “Since our premiere last year, audiences throughout the UK have fallen in love with Nativity! The Musical. The show has proved to be the most wonderful introduction to theatre for children and their families. It has so much heart and joy and I am thrilled to be bringing it back to London for a third year in 2019 so even more people can see it.”
Writer and director Debbie Isitt said of Simon Lipkin’s return:
“We are delighted to have Simon back in London as Mr Poppy for a third year running. After working with him on the musical in 2017, he has gone on to star in the new Nativity movie Nativity Rocks! have loved every minute of working him, his talent is second to none and we are so excited to have him back with us in 2019.”
With music and lyrics by Nicky Ager and Isitt, Nativity! The Musical is choreographed by Andrew Wright, designed by David Woodhead, with lighting design by Tim Mitchell, sound design by Tom Marshall and musical supervision and orchestrations by George Dyer.
