It’s just been announced that the upcoming London production of the hit Broadway musical Once Upon A Mattress, due to open at The Playground Theatre from 18 December 2018 to 19 January 2019, has been postponed – so we shall have to wait a little longer!

It probably seems like we have been waiting ‘For Forever’ for Dear Evan Hansen to travel across the pond from the Great White Way but now there’s a date to look forward to… sort of. Following on from one final, sold-out show at the O2 arena, comes news that the musical Tainted, featuring the memorable sounds of Marc Almond and Soft Cell, will have its first-ever public performances in a special showcase at The Vaults on 24 October 2018, supported by an ambitious KickStarter campaign.

It was standing room only at Ronnie Scott’s for the London press launch of Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson’s Broadway musical Waitress, arriving at the Adelphi Theatre in February 2019, but luckily Caroline Hanks-Farmer was there filming all the chat and performances, including a guest appearance from popular US actor and singer Gavin Creel. Somewhere in London’s The O2 there’s going to a Greek island paradise where the new immersive theatrical and dining experience Mamma Mia! The Party – with a story version by Sandi Toksvig – will open on 19 September 2019, following previews from 29 August.

Michelle Visage seems to have liked Everybody’s Talking About Jamie so much that she fancied joining the cast! Best known to TV audiences for RuPaul’s Drag Race and Ireland’s Got Talent, now she will make her West End debut as Miss Hedge from 18 October 2018 to 26 January 2019.

Not only do they get to see Daniel Buckley’s Feris and Melissa James’ Super Hot Lady strutting their stuff in this hilarious ‘No Pants Dance’ video, but we think we might have spotted producer Warwick Davis and writer Ben Adams in the background too!
Following sell-out seasons at Chichester and Hampstead, Jeanine Tesori & Tony Kushner’s celebrated musical will run at London’s Playhouse Theatre from 20 November 2018 to 9 February 2019.
