It’s a family affair for Laura Pitt-Pulford as she takes on the role of Sheryl, the matriarch of the eccentric Hoover family, in Little Miss Sunshine, running at the Arcola Theatre from 21 March to 11 May 2019 before heading off on a UK tour. Among the other Hoovers she will be attempting to keep in check will be Gary Wilmot, Gabriel Vick, Paul Keating and Sev Keoshgerian. Happy travels…

It seems that Marianne Elliott’s production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s Company at the Gielgud Theatre, featuring a female lead for the first time, hasn’t just been a favourite with audiences. The show won in both musical categories at the 2018 Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards today: for Best Musical & Best Designer for Bunny Christie.

Full casting has been confirmed for the UK tour of In The Willows – the explosive brand new musical retelling of The Wind In The Willows – from the award-winning Metta Theatre. Olivier award-winning actor Clive Rowe stars as Mr Badger will be teaming up with X Factor fave Seann Miley Moore (Duck), Let It Shine’s Matt Knight (Chief Weasel) and deaf street dancer Chris Fonseca (Otter). Paul Taylor-Mills’ plans for MT Fest UK, a two-week festival of new musical theatre, already sounded exciting, but a bonus comes in the shape of Night Caps, an informal late-night concerts series as part of the event featuring some of the country’s eminent musical theatre stars.
