Teowa Vuong trained in Music at Dartington College of Arts, Goldsmiths and SOAS. Her violin credits include performing with Laurie Anderson at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Steve Reich at the Purcell Room, and recording at Abbey Road Studios with Moby. Her TV and film credits include Silent Witness BBC / A&E, Dalziel & Pascoe and alongside Tim Robbins in Code 46 (dir Michael Winterbottom). As a stage actress she has worked with The Race by Gecko Theatre Company (Battersea Arts Centre), Take Away by Mulan Theatre Company (The Lyric, Hammersmith) and The Warp directed by Ken Campbell, and her musical theatre credits include La Strada.
As an inspirational violin teacher Teowa has developed her own teaching methodology, and was recently awarded a full Scholarship at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She strongly believes in helping children find and develop a passion for music. Through her charity, Sponsor A Violin, she ensures that her workshops are accessible to all. Teowa's goal is to use music as a tool for peacebuilding and social change within the community. Those who know her would agree that Teowa’s most notable feature is her laugh, which has been described as a cross between Basil Brush and a warthog on heat.
