Patrice’s debut album “A Musical Heart” has just been released to rave reviews and has already been topping the iTunes charts.
Patrice is currently playing Fantine in Cameron Mackintosh’s New Production of Les Miserables which is playing at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney, Australia. She was recently nominated for a Helpmann Award for her performance as Fantine. Before this, she was Belle in Beauty and the Beast in Melbourne.
Patrice enjoyed alternating the role of Elphaba in the hit musical Wicked. As one of the original Australian cast, she loves being part of the Wicked Alumni. Patrice’s music theatre debut was in 1991 as one of the Royal Children in the Gordon/Frost Production of The King and I. Patrice played the role of Nala in Disney’s The Lion King at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne and she has toured Australia and Japan in the Queen musical We Will Rock You, understudying and performing the lead roles of Killer Queen and Scaramouche often.
Patrice’s rich history of music and culture stems from her Maori/ Irish background. From an early age her love for music was fostered in a musical family performing throughout Australia. Her training continued in voice, violin, piano, saxophone and dance. She travelled the U.S.A. and Australia with the Starz Production Team and Europe and New Zealand with the Matthew Flinders Anglican College Chorale.
Patrice went on to study at the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and is one of the youngest to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre. WAAPA stage credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), Spurboard (Amy), The Pajama Game, Up, Pacific Overtures, Perfectly Frank and The Wild Party (Reno). Other stage credits include Anyone Can Whistle (Fay Apple), Westside Story (Maria), Sweet Charity (Charity), Songs for a New World, and Prodigal (Maddy).
Patrice signed a recording contract with Sony BMG Australia as a member of Girlband. Girlband released their 1st single “Party Girl” in 2006. Highlights also included filming and recording a Bollywood Clip in India for the film Heyy Babyy, writing and recording an album, the group’s own TV show on Channel 10 and touring Australia with The Rogue Traders and TV Rock. Girlband’s own clothing range launched exclusively to Kmart and their 2nd single “Electric” took radio by storm!
Patrice can be seen singing national anthem’s at Bledisloe Cup Games and is always thrilled to represent her countries (Australia and New Zealand) in front of crowds of 80- 100,000 spectators and rugby union fans across the world.
Above every other accomplishment, Patrice is a proud wife and mother.
