There are few musical theatre writers who can encapsulate a heartbreakingly strange and eccentric true story masterfully, but Doug Wright, and composers Scott Frankel and Michael Korie execute it so perfectly in their beautiful piece Grey Gardens. This is my absolute favourite musical theatre song, that I know I am not yet old enough to portray within the realms of the show, but had the great privilege to present it in a cabaret in London.
