Monica Swayne is an Australian actress and dancer whose credits include Evita (Open Air Theatre), The Light in the Piazza (Royal Festival Hall), Follies at the National Theatre, Me and My Girl at Chichester and Aladdin in the West End, The Royal Opera's winter production of Der Rosenkavalier at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden London and touring the UK with Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins (Cover Mary Poppins).
Before moving to the UK, 2016 saw Monica perform the role of Hodel in the Australian production of Fiddler On The Roof (TML Enterprises) and 'The Show Girl' in Follies In Concert held at the Melbourne Recital Centre, along side many of Australia's Theatre and Entertainment greats such as Phillip Quast, Nancye Hayes, David Hobson and many more. Other theatre credits include, Jeannie Mulddon in Nice Work If You Can Get It the musical (The Production Company Australia), The Australasian 10th Anniversary tour of WICKED the musical (cover Glinda & Nessarose) (GFO/Universal). The Australian and New Zealand tour productions of Mary Poppins the musical (cover Mary Poppins) (Disney and Cameron Mackintosh). The Australian production of Jerome Robbins' West Side Story(understudy Maria) (Ambassador Theatre Group). The Production Company’s Australian premier of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and revival of Anything Goes, State Theatre, Melbourne. In 2015, Monica played various roles in a new Australian comedic play written by Steve Vizard and Paul Grabowsky titled The Last Man Standing for Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC).
