Joshua’s love for performing started at an early age and he began working professionally at 12. He then trained at Liverpool Theatre School on a DADA Scholarship where he received the Student of the Year Award. Whilst in training Joshua appeared in INTO THE WOODS, THE ROOM and THE ODD COUPLE amongst others.
Since graduating Joshua’s theatre appearances include 'Henry' in AN IDLE WORLD (Trafalgar Studios, West End), ‘The Beast/Prince’ in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (The Brindley Theatre & Grimsby Auditorium), ’Elwood Blues’ in A TRIBUTE TO THE BLUES BROTHERS LIVE (The Lowry and Edinburgh Fringe Festival), 'Mr Tibbett' in AN APPLE A DAY (UK Tour), 'Robert' in BOEING, BOEING (Thomson Cruises), 'Lead Vocalist' in VARIOUS (Thomson Cruises), ‘Dean Martin’ in THE RAT PACK LIVE (Edinburgh), ‘Herbert Stanley’ in GIRLS WITH BALLS (Tour), 'Lead Vocalist' in SOUND OF THE MUSICALS (Tour), ‘Noah Claypole’ in OLIVER! He appeared as ‘Teddy Boy’ in NOWHERE BOY (Ecosse Films/Film 4), 'James' in CRONICLES OF CAIDEN (RIce Pictures), ‘Zeus’ in THE GAMES (Nuffield Films), as various roles in THINKING SKILLS FOR LIFE (Axis Films), as various roles in THINKING SKILLS FOR WORK (Axis Films), ‘Dominic’ in PERFECT TRIP (MF Productions) and ‘Ben’ in JUST A CUPPA (Simons Films). Joshua was featured on the cast recording of BIG BANG! THE MUSICAL and presented THE WEEKEND WARM UP for LIPA Radio, as well as appearing on STEVE WRIGHT’S show (BBC Radio 2).
After playing ‘Elwood Blues’ in 2011 Joshua was given the opportunity to develop a Blues Brothers' show further, along with the support of the Blues Brothers' Estate in America. He has now written the show A TRIBUTE TO THE BLUES BROTHERS LIVE of which he has directed productions for sell out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and The Lowry Theatre, Salford. He also represed the role in The Blues Brothers - Summer Special.
Joshua has also worked as Writer/Director on THE RAT PACK LIVE for Hartshorn - Hook, Writer/Director/Producer on FRIEND LIKE ME, SWING INTO CHRISTMAS and THE HOLLYWOOD EXPERIENCE all for JAM Entertainments, as Writer/Producer on THE WEEKEND WARM UP for LIPA Radio, as Director on SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS for ST Productions, as Co-Director on TEEN ANGEL for Larger Than Life Films and as Assistant Director on BEAUTY AND THE BEAST for Principal Productions.
