Johnathan has been working in the professional performing arts industry for over 2 decades. Consequently he has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge and experience in all areas of theatre from technical departments, performance and show maintenance to show creation as both choreographer and director. He brings this experience and knowledge, both practical and theoretical, to his students in his unique teaching style that focusses on positive reinforcement of self-belief and rigorous physical training to create a disciplined and highly skilled musical theatre performer.
As a dancer, dance captain and assistant choreographer, Johnathan has performed in over 50 countries to well over 10 million people in some of the world’s top dance shows including Gaelforce Dance, Riverdance, Irish Dance Masters, Rhythm of the Dance, Ragus, Spirit of Ireland, Broadway! and Dance of Desire. After an extensive and successful career as a dancer, Johnathan returned to musical theatre and after studying on GSA's first master's degree course, received his MA in musical theatre with honours.

Johnathan has choreographed several pantomimes and musicals in the UK as well as choreography to an original score for two versions of Celtic Journey which were produced at the Churchill and Marlowe theatres. This show included, Irish, Tap, African Contemporary, Bollywood, Flamenco and Highland styles. This led him to choreograph the Act 1 finale of Stephen Gately’s Memorial concert at the Palace Theatre, West End. He has recently been taken on board as new rock band Mayhem’s choreographer. In addition to choreography, Johnathan has worked as resident director on several productions and the privilege of working as assistant director on The Sonnet Walks at The Globe Theatre in London. Most recently Johnathan directed and choreograhed How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying which received a 'Best Lead Female' nominationand for MTI, A Muscial Theatre Christmas and On My Way.
Johnathan holds a Diploma in Directing from AFDA, BA in English, MA Hons in Musical Theatre from GSA as well as his LTCL in drama education from Trinity. He has worked in some of the UK's top drama colleges including GSA, The Centre PAC, Urdang, LIPA and Scene ii.
