Gina Beck is an English actress and singer known primarily for her roles in leading musical theatre productions. Her best known West End musical theatre credits include leading roles in Matilda the Musical, Show Boat, Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera. She is currently playing the role of Glinda in the musical Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London.
Gina took over the principal role of Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera in September 2008. Since that time she has also performed "The Phantom of the Opera" duet with Ramin Karimloo at Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday concert in Hyde Park. She has sung the duet "All I Ask of You" with co-star Simon Bailey on the Grand Staircase of the actual Opera Garnier in Paris (where Phantom is set) for CBS Television and the same song on the Alan Titchmarsh show on ITV1.
Gina also recently performed as part of the Les Misérables ensemble at the Royal Variety Performance 2010 and was a soloist in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables at the O2 arena which has subsequently been released on DVD.
In April 2011 Gina revisited the role of Kate Hardcastle in Charles Hart and Howard Goodall's musical comedy 'The Kissing Dance' at The Jermyn Street Theatre. She originally performed this role in the musical's premiere performances with the National Youth Music Theatre between 1998 and 2000. The production was extremely successful and garnered Gina an Offie Nomination for best female performance. In June 2011 Gina played Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music produced by Bronowski Productions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In September 2011 Gina played the role of Letitia Hardy in 'The Belle's Stratagem' by Hannah Cowley at the Southwark Playhouse. One of the greatest hits of the Georgian stage was given its first major London revival in a production directed by Jessica Swale.
In December 2011 Gina opened in the hit musical Wicked at The Apollo Victoria Theatre playing the lead role of Glinda. She finished performances on November 16th 2013. Shortly after on December 16th 2013 she made her North American debut playing Glinda on the 1st National tour of Wicked. (Source: www.ginabeck.co.uk)
