Christopher Hamilton is a classically trained pianist from Cardiff, Wales. His musical theatre performance credits include A Spoonful of Sherman.
He attended the Royal Academy of Music, London and then read Law at Oxford University. Whilst working as a City lawyer he decided to perform full time so studied a musical theatre course at Guildford School of Acting. Since then he has appeared in shows and in cabaret all over the world from the House of Commons to Melbourne. In 2007 Christopher performed his one man show in New York. Critics described him as “the real deal” and “a total showman”. He also performs as headliner on all the luxury cruise liners.
Christopher is a keen writer. In 2009 his first musical, Over The Threshold, for which he wrote the music, lyrics and book, was produced in Edinburgh where it won the MTM: UK Award for Best New Music. It then transferred to London, was produced in Vienna in 2010 and was performed as a concert version in New York. Christopher won the Tim Williams Award in two consecutive years and went on to win the Audience Club ‘Old Words/New Theatrical Song’. In 2014, Christopher was commissioned to write a piece for the English National Ballet which was performed at the Barbican and then at the Latitude Festival. He is currently completing a new project called Cock Tales.
