Soprano Charli Baptie is currently touring the UK and Ireland with the musical Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz covering the role of Glinda.
She recently completed a year in the London cast of The Phantom of the Opera and previously toured the UK & Ireland with West Side Story (ATG/BB Promotions) playing the role of Rosalia and first cover Maria (performed over 40 times).
In 2013 she completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance under the tuition of Wendy Eathorne & Rianka Bouwmeester, for which she was awarded a distinction and the Director's Prize for Excellence. Charli was supported by a Trinity College London scholarship and also enrolled on the English National Opera’s mentor scheme.
Other theatre credits include the title role in Peter Pan (Norwich Theatre Royal), Geraldine in Free As Air (Finborough Theatre), Phyllis in Iolanthe and Melissa in Princess Ida at Buxton Opera House & Harrogate Royal Hall (Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company), Micaela in Carmen and Ilia in Idomeneo (Trinity Laban Opera), Belinda in Dido & Aeneas (Black Robin Opera), Athos in The Three Musketeers and Edith in The Pirates of Penzance (Charles Court Opera), Noemi in Cendrillon (Blackheath Halls Opera), Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Josephine in HMS Pinafore and Young Sally in Follies (Trent Opera) and Johanna in Sweeney Todd and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof (Nottingham Festival Opera).
Concert includes Friday Night is Music Night: Ivor Novello Special with the BBC Concert Orchestra (BBC Radio 2), Kate in The Yeomen of the Guard with John Wilson and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (Symphony Hall), Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Blackheath Halls), The Merry Widow with John Wilson and the Philharmonia Orchestra (Royal Festival Hall), Gilbert and Sullivan Spectacular (Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company), Wine, Women and Song (Nottingham Symphony Orchestra), Howard Goodall’s Eternal Light: A Requiem (Lymington Choral Society) and A Tribute to Lerner and Loewe (Nottingham Festival Orchestra).
Charli was highly commended for her performance in Trinity Laban's 2014 Gold Medal Showcase. She has performed in masterclasses with Rebecca Caine, Jocelyn B Smith, Yvonne Minton, Brindley Sherratt and Matthew Rose.
