Emma Rice may be leaving her position as Artistic Director of The Globe next year, but she's still bringing a whole host of exciting new shows to the theatre in the time she has left! They have just announced the 2017 winter season in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, entitled "The Winter Selection". Opening the season will be ROMANTICS ANONYMOUS, a new musical directed by Emma Rice (who also wrote the book), with lyrics by Christopher Dimond and music by Michael Kooman, presented by special arrangement with Radio Mouse Entertainment. London West End Calling! A new feel-good musical is set to open in the capital’s West End in 2018 featuring some of punk’s biggest hits by The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Damned and more. The show is funded by the world’s biggest record label, Universal Music and will be the first time punk hits have become a West End musical...with opera singers! This unique and original show will be cast via open auditions and is sure to be a mosh-worthy success!

What do Bob Dylan and ABBA have in common? Well...they've both got 'jukebox' musicals! Bob Dylan's 1963 song "Girl from the North Country", from his second studio album, provided inspiration for this world premiere new musical (or is it a play with music?) opening at the Old Vic Theatre this July. We've got two fab songs for you from GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY (wonder how they came up with the title?!), sung by the cast, to whet your whistle. It certainly doesn't sound like MAMMA MIA!

#StageFave Gerard McCarthy stars as Dave the Cat in the upcoming one-man show, Cat (The Play!!!) at the West End's Ambassadors Theatre for two nights only next week. Cat (The Play!!!) is an affectionate tribute to musical theatre, tracking the career of a jobbing hoofer allegedly sacked on the opening night of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.
