In a shock casting rumour, it's been suggested that 'Wicked' on Broadway has found their new green girl in international pop star Ariana Grande. Apparently current Elphaba, Jackie Burns (who has played the role on and off for 6 years), is ready to move on to pastures new so if you care to find her, be sure to look to the Western skies!

We're really jealous that Broadway gets its FROZEN fix this year but we're LOVING the new songs being released by the team. This latest song is no exception. Caissie Levy, who plays Elsa in the stage version has a terrific voice and we really feel like in this newly released track "Dangerous To Dream" we're seeing a real insight into the character.
Most people tend to focus on the hero of a story, or the major love interest that propels much of the action of a Musical along. But we reckon the villains are often the most interesting part of a show (after all, that's literally what WICKED is entirely based upon!) so we decided to share this collection of the top songs from Musical Theatre Villains.
It’s nearly a decade since the last UK tour of Les Miserables sold out within days, but don't worry, the Broadway production is back on tour from November 2018.

It's time for our song of the week and we thought, with the UK premiere of ROTHSCHILD & SONS just around the corner, why not revisit the Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock back catalogue for a classic gem...and boy did we find one! Your third #StageFavesSongOfTheWeek is..."Matchmaker" from FIDLER ON THE ROOF.
Something truly wonderful is coming our way. Tony Award winner Ruthie Ann Miles is now confirmed to join fellow Broadway stars Kelli O'Hara and Ken Watanabe in the Lincoln Center transfer of THE KING & I. The Rodgers & Hammerstein classic opening at the West End's London Palladium in June and has just extended booking due to demand...
By the press statements released, sounds like something went awry in negotiations... Blame the agent? Whatever the reason that Jimmy Nail is no longer appearing in the UK premiere of THE LAST SHIP, we think it's pretty cool that Joe McGann and Richard Fleeshman are onboard. Have you seen who else is in the cast for Sting's debut musical, opening in Newcastle in March?

It's a new year, so we thought why not start as we mean to go on, with some new #StageFaves segments!? After a little thought we had a lightbulb moment - why not feature a different song each week and tweet cool little bits of trivia about it as we go!? - and so your first #StageFaves song of the week is "Aquarius" from the musical HAIR.

Sting's debut musical THE LAST SHIP is coming home, opening in his native Newcastle in March ahead of a UK tour with Jimmy Nail reprising his Broadway starring role. But will it come to London? And which other #StageFaves will star this side of the pond?
