It's been almost 30 years, but METROPOLIS is back! For the first time since its 1989 West End debut, All Star Productions are continuing their string of lesser-produced musicals with a full run this October at Ye Olde Rose And Crown. It's been a long wait and we're super psyched, but I'm sure we can wait a few months longer...right...RIGHT!?
It is 65 years since Eva Perón died so what better way to celebrate her legacy than by welcoming Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita back into the West End for 12 weeks this summer. Leading the cast are #StageFaves Emma Hatton and the Italian Gian Marco Schiaretti.
Whose #StageFaves diary would you like to get a peek into? Fortunately for them, their secrets are safe as it is Adrian Mole's diary that now has a cast full of brilliant #StageFaves attached to it, as the Menier Chocolate Factory have announced the full company for their brand new production of Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 – The Musical which opens in Adrian’s 50th birthday year.
They told us to #keeptalkingaboutJamie and our wishes would come true... It’s not every press release that begins with a fairy tale, still less one that actually comes true. Homegrown musical MISS NIGHTINGALE, set in London during the Second World War, finally gets an extended London season after five successful UK tours. It runs for eight weeks this spring at The Vaults (which is near-enough to a bomb shelter?)...
Good things come to those who wait. After more than 15 years in development (did we really read that right?), homegrown musical MY LAND'S SHORE at last receives a full-scale, world-premiere production with a run in the new year at Walthamstow's Ye Olde Rose & Crown, care of All Star Productions...

This time last week I was coming down from the buzz of BEAM:2016. Today, as I was re-reading my notes and other people’s write-ups for this blog, I received news on casting for The Toxic Avenger, starring Mark Anderson (who I saw performing at Beam) and produced by Aria Entertainment’s Katy Lipson (one of the producers who had their portfolios showcased at Beam). So that seems pretty apt.
