Last night, THE COLOR PURPLE returned to the London stage with a concert at Cadogan Hall. The cast was filled with loads of #StageFaves, featurning Marisha Wallace, Rachel John, Wendy Mae Brown, Tyrone Huntley, Cavin Cornwall, Hugh Maynard, Seyi Omooba, T'Shan Williams, Bernadette Bangura, Rochelle Jackman and Krishana Parker. It was staged to raised funds for The British Theatre Academy, a unique performing arts programme that has inspired and nurtured the talent of thousands of young performers over the past 30 years. The Stephen Sondheim Society and Mercury Musical Developments have just announced the 12 finalists for the annual West End Gala for The Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year and The Stiles + Drewe Prize. Olivier Award-winner and #StageFave Clive Rowe will host the event at the Noёl Coward Theatre on Sunday 11 June at 3pm and it's sure to be brimming with talent...

Jonathan Larson is most famous for writing the groundbreaking 90's musical RENT, but diehard fans will know his autobiographical monologue TICK, TICK...BOOM! which was posthumously turned into a 3-hander and is playing at the Park Theatre this month. After a series of hush hush recording sessions, it was announced today that the cast recording for THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS is on its way and will be released on June 16. With a fantastic cast including the likes of Denise Welch, Simon Lipkin and Rufus Hound, this new Stiles & Drewe recording looks set to be a fantastic romp through the classic story. StageFaves were invited to sit in on a recording session in Angel and if what we heard is anything to go by, it's going to be high-octane, hysterical and full of fun!

Last month Andy Karl won the top prize at the #OlivierAwards for his fantastic portrayal of Phil Connors in Tim Minchin's musical GROUNDHOG DAY. After taking the show across the pond to Broadway, he's now nominated for a Tony Award too!
