Our #FirstNightTakeover series continues with Perry O’Bree attending the UK premiere of On Your Feet! – The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan – at the London Coliseum and what a night #StageFaves’ awesome vlogger had! After chatting to music legend Gloria Estefan herself on the Red Carpet before the show (as well as Beverley Knight and Christina Bennington) Perry also caught up with the show’s leading players Christie Prades and George Ioannides. Presented at the Edinburgh Fringe by the team behind West End smash Heathers The Musical, the UK premiere of hit US musical Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical – based on the cult Hollywood film – has attracted quite a cast including Dominic Andersen, Rebecca Gilhooley, Evelyn Hoskins, Sophie Isaacs and Dean John-Wilson. Are you ready to binge on 90s hits?

Our #FirstNightTakeover series continues with Perry O’Bree attending the London premiere of Broadway musical The Light In The Piazza at the Royal Festival Hall. Perry gets goosebumps from the beauty and style of the show and has the added bonus of catching up with several members of the cast afterwards including Dove Cameron, Rob Houchen, Celinde Schoenmaker and Liam Tamne. Oh and did we mention that he bumped into Tony Award-winner Ben Platt too?
Written and directed by Conor McPherson, with music and lyrics by Bob Dylan, Girl From The North Country won two Olivier Awards when it was last in the West End and was an all-round critical hit. Now the show is heading back to the West End, running at the Gielgud Theatre from 10 December 2019 to 1 February 2020, before transferring to Broadway.

It’s a newly-reimagined venue in the heart of Soho and its first show is going to be a musical. The Boulevard Theatre opens its doors to the public for the first time in October 2019 with the London premiere of Tony Award-nominated Dave Malloy’s celebrated song cycle Ghost Quartet. What’s not to like?
When the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Singin’ in the Rain transferred to the West End in 2012 it went on to be a hit with audiences and receive four Olivier nominations. Now it’s back for a five-week summer season at Sadler’s Wells with Adam Cooper returning to the role of Don Lockwood, made so famous by Gene Kelly in the MGM movie. We think the show will make quite a splash.

Ed Baker-Duly will play Robert to Jenna Russell’s Francesca in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s UK premiere production of The Bridges of Madison County, Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman’s musical adaptation of Robert James Waller’s bestselling novel, directed by Trevor Nunn. Romance is in the air.
Today is going to be a good day and here’s why: An extra ticket release for the West End production of Dear Evan Hansen goes ahead on 10 June 2019 (Pasek and Paul’s Tony Award-winning show begins previews at the Noël Coward Theatre on 29 October) and now fans have a chance to be part of the musical’s distinctive artwork.

Your chance to make a date with destiny is just around the corner as tickets go on sale for The Prince of Egypt, Stephen Schwartz and Philip LaZebnik’s new stage musical based on the celebrated DreamWorks Animation film, and details of the creative team are announced. The production opens at London’s Dominion Theatre on 5 February 2020.

Pint of Wine Theatre Company’s production of Michael John LaChiusa’s Queen of the Mist, which received its UK premiere in a sold-out run at the Jack Studio Theatre in April 2019, will transfer to London’s Charing Cross Theatre for a strictly limited seven-week season from 15 August to 5 October 2019. Plus the original London cast recording will be released to coincide with the opening.

Billed as a touching and inspiring sidewalk-fairy tale, and featuring the famous song ‘Once Upon A Time’, Mark Schoenfeld and Barri McPherson’s Broadway musical Brooklyn will have its European premiere at London’s Greenwich Theatre from 27 September to 9 October 2019. Will it be streets ahead?

Fresh from his success directing Ain’t Misbehavin’ at Southwark Playhouse, Tyrone Huntley will be back in the spotlight, playing the role of Wes in the European premiere of new LGBTQ+ musical The View Upstairs, previewing from 18 July 2019 at London’s Soho Theatre. With Andy Mientus, Declan Bennett, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, Cedric Neal and John Partridge already in the line-up, it’s turning into quite a cast!

Our #FirstNightTakeover series continues with Perry O’Bree attending the West End opening of AMOUR at the Charing Cross Theatre. Perry was there taking in the intimate atmosphere of Michel Legrand’s musical fantasy and of course fitting in some post-show chats with cast members Anna O’Byrne, Elissa Churchill and Claire Machin. It was a ‘chocolate box of delightful joy’ and Perry seems to have loved every bite!
