The awards season continues with news of the nominees for the 65th annual Evening Standard Theatre Awards on 24 November 2019 at the London Coliseum. Come From Away, Evita, Fiddler & Sweet Charity are up for Best Musical category while Anne-Marie Duff, Andy Nyman and Sheridan Smith are all nominated in the Best Musical Performance category.

The Menier Chocolate Factory has announced further casting for Matthew White’s revival of Sandy Wilson’s The Boy Friend as the company begin rehearsals.

It’s never too late to fall in love with Sandy Wilson’s classic British musical and the Menier Chocolate Factory obviously feels the same, having just announced the first major London revival of The Boy Friend in ten years, running over Christmas at the theatre from 22 November 2019 until 7 March 2020.

Ed Baker-Duly will play Robert to Jenna Russell’s Francesca in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s UK premiere production of The Bridges of Madison County, Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman’s musical adaptation of Robert James Waller’s bestselling novel, directed by Trevor Nunn. It’s taken a while to travel across the pond, but now Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman’s Tony Award-winning musical adaptation of Robert James Waller’s bestselling novel The Bridges of Madison County will have its European premiere at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 12 July to 14 September 2019, directed by Trevor Nunn. It could be a bit of a tearfest.

Time to take a look at the principal company chosen for Trevor Nunn’s major revival of Fiddler on the Roof as Judy Kuhn, Stewart Clarke, Matt Corner and Louise Gold joining the previously announced Andy Nyman as Tevye. The production opens on 5 December 2018, so will it be on your Christmas wish list?

It’s a mystery no longer, director Trevor Nunn has made his match and chosen actor and writer Andy Nyman to play the lead in his major revival of Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Joseph Stein’s classic Fiddler on the Roof, previewing from November 2018.
