It’s hard to imagine the West End getting back to normal at the moment, but preparations are still being made for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s brand new version of Cinderella, opening at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre in October 2020, including the exciting casting of Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as the Stepmother opposite Carrie Hope Fletcher in the title role.
Andrew Lloyd Webber announces delay in the West End opening of his new musical version of Cinderella
In light of the ‘current global circumstances’ in relation to the coronavirus, the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical Cinderella, starring Carrie Hope Fletcher, has been delayed to 28 October 2020, previewing from 9 October. Originally the much-anticipated musical was due to begin previews on 28 August.
It’s the traditional fairy tale with a modern twist and a very modern Cinderella as played by Carrie Hope Fletcher in Andrew Lloyd Webber and David Zippel’s new musical, based on an original idea by Emerald Fennell, opening for previews at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 28 August 2020.

There were rumours that the new musical version of the classic fairy tale Cinderella with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by David Zippel, based on an original idea by Emerald Fennell, would open on Broadway but instead it will be London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre which will host the show when it opens in September 2020. It’s to the classroom for Noel Sullivan as from 19 August 2019 he picks up his briefcase and guitar in order to take on the iconic role of Dewey Finn in the West End production of School of Rock at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre. Will you be rockin’ along to see him in action?

A year and a day after Gillian Lynne DBE sadly passed away, ‘To Gillie, With Love’ will see stars of the world of dance, theatre, film and TV come together on 2 July 2019 at London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre, to show their admiration and thanks. Already in the line-up are Sierra Boggess, Ben Forster, Linzi Hateley, Ramin Karimloo, Beverley Knight and the New Adventures Company. A special evening is in store.

British theatre composer Nick Butcher has released a new video featuring Heathers actress Rebecca Lock singing his song ‘Alive’. The original song is the third video in Nick’s YouTube series, featuring stars of the West End. The song encourages us “to dare and be brave” so have a listen!
