Last night (17 September 2017), our vlogger Perry O'Bree attended the first-ever The Stage Debut Awards. The Stage's inaugural Debut Awards has brand-new musical theatre talent categories including Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Composer. There's also a Best West End Debut category which includes some already very big names. How many of your #StageFaves are in the running?
It's been a triumphant run, but Gary Barlow's THE GIRLS has now left London's West End. The show, which found a home at the Phoenix Theatre for six wonderful months will head on tour next summer, but the hole it's left in London's theatre district has been felt strongly by thousands of fans. They may have finished their West End run earlier this month but it's far from the end of the line for THE GIRLS. This August will see the fab cast embark on a 42-venue tour, sharing their wonderful story with the rest of the UK. Most of the coverage for the show has focussed on the leading ladies but there is also an injection of youth to the cast which shouldn't be forgotten. Theatre and cakes together – what could be better? The judges have been announced: hoin Babs, Arlene and Janie Dee - as well as #StageFaves' own Perry O'Bree - next Saturday 20 May 2017 as they judge this year's competition. Last night was the primetime broadcast of the 2017 Olivier Awards on ITV! Fans finally got to see for themselves the glitz and glamour of Sunday's star-studded event and watch their #StageFaves perform songs from nominated shows. There was an awful lot of fan love in particular for Gary Barlow, Amber Riley and Lin-Manuel Miranda, but they were far from being the only stars worthy of praise.
