What a range of winners there were at the 10th anniversary Offies 2020 presented by Off West End with Best Musical Production going to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at the Union Theatre and Amour at the Charing Cross Theatre named as Best New Musical. Elsewhere Thrill Me lead actors Bart Lambert and Jack Reitman were both honoured for their performances at the Hope Theatre, while Oti Mabuse completed a victorious weekend with a prize for her choreography for Ain’t Misbehavin at Southwark Playhouse.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes gets a rare London revival at the Union Theatre with a vibrant young cast that revitalises this Broadway and Hollywood classic. It's "classy, sassy and perfectly performed" - no wonder it's received no fewer than six Offies nominations, including for its two leading ladies. We've rounded up some of the review highlights. Two of the theatres on my doorsteps in south London are Southwark Playhouse and the Union Theatre. So when I planned my visits to two musicals I've been working on Featured Show campaigns for StageFaves, I couldn't resist taking my theatre-loving, octogenarian neighbour Dudley as my plus-one. Two memorable nights out for me and Dudley!

In Sasha Regan's upcoming revival of classic Broadway and Hollywood Golden Age musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which runs at the Union Theatre from 2 to 26 October, Abigayle Honeywill follows in the footsteps of Carol Channing, Marilyn Monroe and Megan Hilty to play bombshell gold-digger Lorelei Lee. She took a break from rehearsals to tell us more.
