A Doctor and a Queen, namely Waitress’ Gavin Creel and Six The Musical’s Alexia McIntosh, were on hand today to announce the 2020 Olivier Awards nominations, just a month before the ceremony takes place on 5 April at the Royal Albert Hall. So now the celebrations have begun, particularly in the & Juliet, Fiddler On The Roof, Dear Evan Hansen and Mary Poppins camps, all of which have received plenty of love from the nominating panel. So who are you hoping leaves with the big prizes on the day?
The awards season continues with news of the nominees for the 65th annual Evening Standard Theatre Awards on 24 November 2019 at the London Coliseum. Come From Away, Evita, Fiddler & Sweet Charity are up for Best Musical category while Anne-Marie Duff, Andy Nyman and Sheridan Smith are all nominated in the Best Musical Performance category.

After a sell-out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Trevor Nunn's critically acclaimed revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF has transferred to the West End's Playhouse Theatre for a limited season. Continuing our #FirstNightTakeover series, Faves vlogger Perry O'Bree was there. Amongst the opening night audience, he rubbed elbows with husband-and-wife West End stars Michael Jibson and Caroline Sheen and with onstage father and daughter stars Andy Nyman and Harriet Bunton. The matches have been made and the performers chosen to join Andy Nyman and Judy Kuhn in the West End transfer of Menier Chocolate Factory’s Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Trevor Nunn and playing at a reconfigured Playhouse Theatre from 21 March until 15 June 2019.

It’s a mystery no longer, director Trevor Nunn has made his match and chosen actor and writer Andy Nyman to play the lead in his major revival of Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick and Joseph Stein’s classic Fiddler on the Roof, previewing from November 2018.
It’s a festive treat for theatregoers who love a bit of tradition. The much-loved Bock and Harnick show Fiddler on the Roof, in a new staging by Trevor Nunn, opens at the Menier Chocolate Factory on 5 December 2018.
