HAMILTON was the night's biggest winner at this year's Olivier Awards, taking home seven prizes in total including Best New Musical. But in the performance categories, it split down the middle between men from Hamilton and women from Bob Dylan hit GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY. The National Theatre's revival of FOLLIES also took two awards, including Best Musical Revival.

Our #FirstNightTakeover series continues with Perry O'Bree attending the West End opening of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY, which has transferred for a limited season at the Noel Coward Theatre following its lauded world premiere at the Old Vic. Casting has been announced for the West End transfer of the Old Vic's production of GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY, which begins its run at the Noel Coward Theatre in December. With many of the original cast being joined by some fantastic new faces, we can already tell it's going to be wonderful! What do Bob Dylan and ABBA have in common? Well...they've both got 'jukebox' musicals! Bob Dylan's 1963 song "Girl from the North Country", from his second studio album, provided inspiration for this world premiere new musical (or is it a play with music?) opening at the Old Vic Theatre this July. We've got two fab songs for you from GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY (wonder how they came up with the title?!), sung by the cast, to whet your whistle. It certainly doesn't sound like MAMMA MIA!
