Last night was the biggest in British Theatre! The Olivier Awards celebrated the best of all things stagey and we reckon this was the best year yet. After much-anticipation actors Sheila Atim and Giles Terera announced the nominations for the Olivier Awards 2019 today and it wasn’t long before the celebrations began for two West End musicals in particular. The acclaimed gender-bending revival of Sondheim’s Company and powerful Canadian show Come From Away are recognised in nine categories each. The King and I and the Queens of Six The Musical are close behind with six and five nominations respectively. Who do you think will come out top on the night?

Phone rings, door chimes, in come the 2018 West End cast recording of Company. In the same week as Marianne Elliott’s groundbreaking production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s legendary musical comedy triumphed at the Critics’ Circle Awards, the digital download and streaming release has been made available and the fans can’t wait!
In yet another twist for the much-anticipated production of the Sondheim and George Furth classic, opening at the West End’s Gielgud Theatre from 26 September 2018, Jonathan Bailey will play Jamie (originally written as Amy) and Alex Gaumond is his devoted boyfriend. But don’t worry, the song ‘Not Getting Married’ today remains!

Whatever the reason that Jimmy Nail is no longer appearing in the UK premiere of THE LAST SHIP, we think it's pretty cool that Joe McGann and Richard Fleeshman are onboard.
